Silent Auction for a place of our own on August 19, 2018
After the Sunday Services on August 19, we will hold a silent auction for fundraising for a place of our own. Light Refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend this fun event!
You can donate items like art work or services like a set of harmonium lessons or hatha yoga classes for kids’ etc.
We have had an amazing response to this fun campaign and a number of members have already signed up. Thanks to all who have signed up for this event!
If you have not yet signed up but would like to sign up or get more information on this event please see Anish in the book room or talk to one of the fundraising committee members.
A member of the fundraising committee will get in touch with you in late July to get more information from you in regards to the items or services that you would be donating.
All proceeds from the silent auction will go towards our building fund.
Walkathon 2018: Walk for a place of our own
DATE September 16, 2018 (after the Sunday Service)
PLACE Serena Gundy Park
Distance 5 Km (Though, there is an option to join half way so 2.5 Km)
Participation Fee $75-$100
A donation receipt will be issued for this amount to all participants. Additionally, you can help raise funds by asking your co-workers, friends and family to sponsor you. You will be provided sheets for collecting funds for this purpose. Donations for $20 or more will be issued a tax receipt.

5. A great way to get some exercise.
Please note that a minimum of 50 participants are required for us to organize this activity.
Methods of Payment
There are two ways to pay the partipation fee. You can send a cheque by mail to Toronto SRF Centre or pay by Cheque, Visa or Cash in the Book Room.
There is also a web-option by visiting the below site. Upon clicking the link below, you will be directed to a page where you friends and family can donate online and sponsor you. You can also use this method to pay the participation fee by sponsoring yourself. All participants will get a donation receipt as all proceeds will go toward our building fund.

Our Toronto Centre SRF Sunday School program for children and teens starts again from Sunday, September 9th. Interested parents and children – both new and returning students – are invited to please pick-up a registration form from the free literature table and submit it before the end of August, 2018. Your completed forms can be placed in the box on the free literature table in the book room.
As our Sunday School classes no longer have access to the Art Room, the Teen Group and the Junior class will both start at 12:30 pm after the Sunday service. The Teen Group class will be held in the Bookroom and the Junior class in the Chapel. The classes will run for an hour.
As the Sunday School keeps expanding we are looking for more teachers. Sunday School teachers must be Kriyabans and be approved by Center Department. Please contact Reena or Ana if you would like to join the Sunday School Team.
2018 SRF World Convocation

SRF Center Representatives Conference During Convocation
During Convocation, Center Department will host the SRF Center Representatives Conference on Thursday, August 9. If you serve as a volunteer at the Toronto Centre of SRF or if you are considering serving, you are invited to attend this year’s SRF Center Representatives’ Conference, which will be held in the California Ballroom at the Bonaventure Hotel from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The conference will provide an opportunity to become more familiar with our Guru’s spiritual ideals for Self-Realization Fellowship centers and meditation groups.
This year there is no need to register in advance. Attendance is on a donation basis and may be made at the event.
Monastic Led Retreat – November 2 – 4, 2018
We are delighted to announce that Sister Vimala and Brahmacharini Elvira will lead the retreat at the Mount Carmel Centre in Niagara Falls from November 2 to 4, 2018. Registration information will be provided closer to the time.
Monastic Visit and Kriya Ceremony – April 12 – 14, 2019
Mother Center has arranged a Monastic visit and Kriya ceremony in Toronto from April 12 to 14, 2019. More information will be provided once the program has been finalized with Tours Department.
Special Services – July to September
Special services are open to everyone who is well enough acquainted with the SRF teachings to appreciate the significance of the Guru-disciple relationship and to participate with sincerity and reverence. Please bring a flower to offer as a symbol of devotion to God and the SRF Gurus. Please also bring a donation, as a symbol of loyalty and faithfulness to the cause of SRF. The collections will be sent to SRF International Headquarters where they are used for sharing these sacred teachings with other truth-seeking souls.
All special services in July and September will include a kirtan.

- Janmashtami Service- Commemorating the Birth of Lord Krishna – Sunday, September 2 (1:00 p.m.)
- Lahiri Mahasaya’s Mahasamadhi Service-Wednesday, September 26 (7.30 p.m.)
- Lahiri Mahasaya’s Birthday Service – Sunday, September 30 (1:00 p.m.)
Please note that the Janmashtami service and the Lahiri Mahasaya’s Birthday service fall on a Sunday this year. These two special services will be held after the regular Sunday 11:00 a.m. Service at 1:00 p.m. as voted for at the Annual General Meeting on January 21, 2018.
Six Hour Meditation in Honour of Lord Krishna – Saturday, September 8
Everyone is welcome to attend a special 6-hour (3hour + 3hour) meditation in Lord Krishna’s honour on Saturday, September 8. The meditation will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m., with a twenty-minute intermission at 1 p.m. If you are not able to attend the full service, you may attend the first or second half. Please bring a devotional offering of a fruit, which symbolizes your reverence and devotion for Lord Krishna. There will be no regular Saturday evening meditation that day.
