1. I am not a SRF member. Can I attend meditation services at your Centre?
Yes. All meditation services at our Centre are open to the public, so everyone who is a spiritual seeker and wants to find peace within is welcome to attend our Services. No background in meditation is required. Those who are new to meditation may wish to attend our Sunday Readings Service first.

2. I have heard about Kriya Yoga and I would like to learn more. Where can I find information?
If you are new to SRF, you can learn more about Kriya Yoga in Chapter 26 of Paramahansa Yogananda’s book Autobiography of a Yogi in which he describes the history and purpose of Kriya Yoga.

3. How can I apply for Kriya Yoga?
SRF students initially devote themselves to a period of preliminary study and meditation in order to prepare themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually for Kriya Yoga practice. This is through a series of printed SRF Lessons written by Paramahansa Yogananda. The Lessons can be studied at home. During this period one learns three important techniques: energization, concentration and meditation. Brief details of these techniques are outlined in the free introductory SRF booklet Undreamed-of Possibilities.

4. Do I need to bring a cushion or other materials to meditations?
We meditate seated on chairs. There is no need to bring any accessories. Cushions are available in the Chapel should you wish to use one.

5. How are the meditations conducted?
The meditations are based on the techniques as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda . For more information about these techniques we suggest you to read the free introductory SRF booklet Undreamed-of Possibilities.

6. Is there any charge for attending the meditation services?
Attending the meditation services is free of charge. If you wish to make a voluntary contribution, there is a donation box at the back of the Chapel. At our Sunday Readings Service there is an optional offertory to cover our operating expenses. Your help is deeply appreciated.

7. At what time is the Chapel open for private meditation?
Usually the Chapel is open half an hour before each meditation service. You are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early in order to settle in before the service begins.

8. How do I learn if a service is cancelled?
Due to weather conditions (e.g. storms during winter time) it might be necessary for the Centre to cancel a service, especially when local news and police reports advise against traveling in the Toronto area. Should this happen, the Centre will have a message on the Centre’s phone answering system approximately one and a half hours before the regular start of the respective service, meditation or Sunday School class.

9. What if I have more questions?
If you have further questions about our Centre and its activities, please feel free to leave us a message in our voice mailbox at (647) 435-9946 and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
